Biography
I was born in Philadelphia on July 10, 1947 to wonderful parents (the second of four children). I grew up in Germantown, then Feltonville, and then Bucks County. Today, I reside in Southampton (Bucks County) with my lovely wife of 47 years. We have three beautiful daughters and a special and beautiful niece; and, six treasured grandchildren (four boys and a two girls); and, one equally-treasured grandnephew. My family is a real blessing.
I became fascinated with photography as a child while “playing” with my mother’s Kodak Brownie camera. That fascination became a passion while I was in the Army in the late 60‘s. That passion continues to this day.
I basically taught myself about photography by reading various photography magazines as well as great books authored by Ansel Adams. I recognize that there is always something new and exciting to learn. I am always reading about, experimenting with, and imagining how to create each new “picture.” Why? Because, photography is not simply a picture on a piece of paper. To a photographer, each picture is, truly, a work of art.
My trade in life was commercial construction project management. I supplemented that income in the 80’s by doing wedding photography which, in turn, financed my photography wants and needs. Now that I am retired, I dedicate myself entirely to my photographic vocation/passion. I am a contributing member of Center for the Arts, Bristol, Pa. My work has also been shown at Allens Lane Art Center, Artsbridge, Congregation Kol Ami, Bristol Centre for the Arts, Doylestown Art Walk, Gallery at Valley Lake, Leiberman Gallery, Phillips Mill, Philadelphia Sketch Club, Wayne Art Center and Art at Valley Lake Gallery, Horsham, Pa.
I look forward with great anticipation, to the images yet to be seen – and the works of art yet to be created.
